1. Paratas

Paratha or parata is a typical Indian food which is also known as roti canai in Malaysia. This unleavened bread is golden brown in color and has a coating that results from a mixture of flour, water, butter and salt. Serving parata is usually accompanied by yogurt or meat and vegetable curry.

2. Sin

Dosa is a term for Indian street food which is round in shape and has a smooth texture. The dough is made of rice and black gram beans which are soaked and then ground into a paste. It takes overnight for this dough to ferment. After that, the dough is baked on a hot flat griddle until cooked.

3. Vada pav

Vada vav is known as the most favorite sandwich or sandwich in Mumbai. This street food is synonymous with a street vendor at the Dadar Train Station named Ashok Vaidya who worked in the 1960-1970s. Ashok is known to prepare vada pav for hungry workers. He makes food practical and affordable.

4. Chat

Panipuri is a typical Indian food that is crunchy, round in shape and has a hole in the middle. Panipura is known as golgappa in North India. Gol refers to the crunchy shell, while gappa refers to the process of eating them one by one.

6. Apps

Next, there are appam or round pancakes, popular in India and Sri Lanka. Similar to the typical Indonesian pancakes, this food is made from rice flour and coconut milk. Appam is usually consumed for breakfast or dinner and is usually served with spicy condiments.

7. Chana masala

Chana masala is chickpea curry that is commonly eaten as a snack, breakfast or main course. This street food is one of the most popular vegetarian dishes in India and is easy to find in offices, train platforms or school canteens. Beans for making chana masala are first boiled with spices. Once cooked, this dish will be served with rice or parata.
