A deck of cards is used to play the card game canasta, which is usually played by four players divided into two teams of two. Forming melds of cards of the same rank or suit is the goal of the card game canasta, which is similar to other rummy-style games. The game’s general rules are as follows:

Two normal decks of cards totaling 108 cards—including the jokers—are used in the game. After the cards are jumbled to create a draw pile, each player rummy satta is given a specific number of cards—typically 11—in the deal. The stockpile consists of the leftover cards.
Making melds, or sequences of three or more cards of the same suit, or combinations of three or more cards of the same rank, is the aim of the game. Wild cards (jokers and 2s) cannot be used to construct melts; only natural cards (cards with numerical values) may.
The game is initiated by the player to the left of the dealer drawing a card from either the top draw or discard pile. The player must next attempt to build melds with the chosen card and any other cards in their hand if it is not a joker or a 2. The player must discard one card, face up, onto the discard pile if they are unable to make any melds.
The player must keep the drawn card and draw a new one if it is a joker or a two. The player must draw a third card and keep the second card if it is a joker or a two. Until rummy joy the player pulls a card that is neither a joker nor a 2, this process is repeated.
The top card drawn from the discard pile can be used by a player to create a meld with two other natural cards of the same rank, or it can be discarded.
However, a player cannot add cards to an opponent’s meld until their team has at least one meld on the table. A player may also add cards to the melds of their own team or their opponents.
If there are two or more natural cards of the same rank in the player’s hand and the top card of the discard pile is a natural card, the player may pick up the entire pile. The player is required to take the top card from the stockpile in addition to picking up the discard pile.
If a person has at least one canasta, which is a meld of seven or more cards, they can go out (end the game). If a player’s hand is empty and their team has at least one canasta, they may also be eliminated.
When one team is eliminated or the stockpile runs out and no player is left with the ability to remove the top card from the discard pile, the game is over. The cards that each side has melded, along with any potential bonuses or penalties, are taken rummy mate into account when calculating points.
